OurGiving Back in Bloom: A Tradition of Sharing Joy
At the Krewe of Dominique Youx, Mardi Gras isn’t just about celebration—it’s about community. Our past Queen Brenda Harned has led a heartfelt tradition that beautifully combines the spirit of Mardi Gras with the spirit of giving. After our grand ball events, we repurpose the floral arrangements and give them new life by sharing them with residents of local Assisted Living Facilities.
This year, following our 38th Anniversary Mardi Gras Ball themed Arabian Nights, our amazing team of volunteers gathered the vibrant flowers from the event and transformed them into smaller arrangements. These bouquets were delivered to several assisted living communities, bringing smiles, warmth, and a touch of Mardi Gras magic to those who are unable to join the festivities.
For the Krewe of Dominique Youw, this gesture is more than just about flowers—it’s about connection. It’s a way of sharing joy and reminding others that they are cherished members of our community. From the elegant ballroom to cozy living spaces, the beauty of Mardi Gras continues to bloom, thanks to this special tradition.
We’re proud to continue this legacy and honor the KODY vision of giving back.
Laissez les bons temps rouler…and bloom!
