The Krewe of Dominique Youx has been a cornerstone of Mardi Gras celebrations in Bay County, Florida, for over 38 years.
As one of the premier Mardi Gras Krewes in the Florida Panhandle, we take pride in our rich traditions and vibrant festivities. Among our most anticipated events are our two spectacular annual balls—the annual Mardi Gras Ball held each year in early spring and the Dominique Youx Ball held each year in early fall. These grand celebrations are elegant, high-energy affairs that bring our Krewe and community together for an unforgettable night of revelry, music, and tradition.

Mardi Gras Ball (Spring Ball)
The Mardi Gras Ball is a lavish, formal affair where gentlemen don their finest Krewe costumes, and ladies dazzle in elegant evening gowns—though only the Queen may wear white.
The evening begins with a masked cocktail hour, adding an air of mystery and tradition. As the masks come off, the Royal Ceremony commences. With great honor, we retire the current court before unveiling the new King, Queen, and their royal court—typically six Pirates and six Princesses—amid much excitement and fanfare.
Following the coronation, official photos are taken, and the first dances take place. Then, the band kicks off the celebration, and the dance floor comes alive. To cap off the night, guests indulge in a full breakfast buffet, making for a truly unforgettable evening.
Dominique Youx Ball (Fall Ball)
The Dominique Youx Ball is an elegant black-tie affair where gentlemen wear classic tuxedos and ladies shine in formal evening gowns.
The evening begins with a lively happy hour, offering guests a chance to mix and mingle. Following this, we commence the distinguished Baratarian Cup presentation ceremony—an exclusive Mardi Gras honor unique to Panama City—where a local non-member dignitary is recognized for their contributions to the community.
After the ceremony, guests enjoy a sophisticated dinner before the celebration continues with live music and dancing. This prestigious event embodies the rich traditions and spirited camaraderie of the Krewe of Dominique Youx.

*NOTE: The Andrew Jackson Baratarian Cup is awarded to a person, not a Krewe member, that has made outstanding contributions to our community. As you can see, the list of past winners is a Who’s Who of Bay County community leadership. The Baratarian Cup is awarded at the Dominique Youx Ball every fall, and this person serves as the Grand Marshall the following year at our Mardi Gras Parade.
